      為因應入學管道多元化與合校後系所專業差異化,本校自107學年度起實施英語適性教學制度。本制度由清華學院為主導策劃,除本中心外,亦請英語教學系、外語系等英語教學專業系和通識中心共同參與該制度之教學規劃與執行。該制度同時兼具同質化與專業多樣化的教學設計,強化學生語文之聽說讀寫等基本素養,讓學生除具備流利且專業的英語文能力外,同時藉本教學方案強化語言能力與浸入國際文化認知,期能培育出具有豐富國際文化背景且具國際移動力跨域創新領導之國際專業人才。

      為達此目標,本教學方案係透過清華學院召集相關教學單位,依據教學目標、學生現行狀態與專業需求,共同研擬設計課程領域與課程內容。依據課程方案目標,本教學課程必須兼具適性化與領域多樣化兩種屬性要求。本課程總學分數共為八學分,其中四學分採適性同質教學模式,另四學分則提供多樣化領域教學課程。

(1) 適性化:

      本類課程共4學分。課程依教學內容深度區分為初級英文中級英文前標英文頂標英文進階英文等,深度對照CEFR等級,分別為A2, B1, B2, B2+, C1等級數,提供不同級數的學生,不同學習需求的教材、課程內容及評量方式等。其中初級英文中級英文前標英文等三課群於108學年度起將由英語教學系負責開課,頂標英文由語言中心開課,而進階英文則由外語系負責開課。

(2) 多樣化教學:

      本類課程共4學分。考量不同專業領域對英文學習需求及英語能力要求之差異,故除適性化教學課程外,還提供包括選讀英文經典英文專業英文高階語言技巧等多樣化內容的課程,以符應本校各個不同專業領域系所,不同深度及廣度的多樣化教學課程需求,讓各個領域的學生,能具備其所屬專業領域所需的英語文能力,以幫助其達成具國際移動力跨域創新領導人才。




      In response to multiple entrance policies and the professional differentiation of departments, NTHU has implemented adaptive English regulations from academic year 2018/2019. Tsing-Hua College took the lead -- besides the faculty from Center for Language Education, professionals from related departments and divisions were also invited to design and implement the system since academic year 2018/2019. The system also has a homogeneous and professionally diversified teaching design, which strengthens the basic literacy of students' language, such as listening, speaking, reading and writing, so that students could have fluent and professional English skills. At the same time, with international cultural cognition embedded as well, this teaching plan can be used to strengthen language skills, hoping to cultivate professionals with a rich international cultural background, international mobility, and cross-domain innovative leadership.

      In order to achieve this goal, Tsing-Hua College convened related teaching units (divisions), based on teaching goals, students' current status and professional needs, jointly developed and designed the curriculum. According to the objectives of the curriculum, the whole program must have both the attributes of "adaptability" and "field diversification". This program includes totally eight credits, of which four credits adopt the appropriate and homogeneous teaching mode, and the other four credits provide courses in a wide variety of fields.


(1) Adaptability:
This type of courses has a total of 4 credits. Students are divided into five levels, each with different course requirements. Each level of courses could refer to different CEFR levels (A2, B1, B2, B2+, C1), providing different teaching materials, course content and evaluation methods for different learning needs.
From the academic year 2019/2020, "Elementary English", "Intermediate English", and "Upper-intermediate" courses will be offered by Department of English Education. "Fundamentals of English" will be offered by Center for Language Education. Lastly, Department of Foreign Languages and Literature would offer "Advanced English" courses.


(2) Diversified Teaching:
This type of courses has a total of 4 credits. Taking different needs and proficiency in English learning into account, our center provides a wide diversity of elective courses in different professional fields, such as selected English reading, Journalistic English, and so on.
The courses are adapted to meet the needs of students from different departments of the school, allowing to have English language skills required by their professional fields and furthermore helping them become cross-domain innovative leadership talents.
