課程說明

這個工作坊以閱讀烏克蘭戰爭等多媒體新聞，以及2022年獲美國普立茲獎的國際議題報導、評論報導為主。主題包括：烏克蘭戰爭、新冠肺炎、海洋生態污染、綠能產業等。閱讀素材包含：《紐約時報》、《大西洋月刊》《路透社》《金融時報》等國際刊物。透過閱讀解釋性報導、調查報導、評論寫作、社論文章，掌握、理解國際上發燒的議題，並學習流暢地以英文表達、敘述、提出自己觀點。工作坊並教授英文評論寫作的方法。期望同學能養成閱讀英文報導，並以英文進行深度的評論寫作、專題寫作的習慣。

This workshop aims to provide a systematic approach to news article writing, feature writing, critical essay and instructs students to write criticism. The reading samples include the 2022 Pulitzer Prize series articles, and those from New York Times, Wallstreet Journal, Reuters, and Economics, consisting of topics such as the Russian-Ukrainian War, global warming issue, green technologies, and the global COVID-19 pandemic. Genres such as data journalism, investigative journalism, multi-media journalism, and explanatory journalism are widely included in this workshop to facilitate students’ ability of critical thinking, clarity of writing, narration, and expression.

※課程以雙語進行：文法句型講解以中文為主。討論部分鼓勵使用英文。
The workshop will be conducted in both English and Mandarin. Grammar will be explained in Mandarin. English is recommended in questions and discussion.
※本課程以講授、閱讀與討論為主。偶有作業練習，同學可選擇自由繳交。
The workshop consists of lecture, reading, and discussion. There will be occasional take-time assignment. Students feel free to participate.
